Good song, but I am a big Aaliyah fan and if Drake has the power to finally release her unreleased music & to keep her relevant in this new generation im ok as long as Drake you got the permission from her family and Aaliyah's close collaborators/friends Timbaland & Missy Elliott. It would be damn disrespectful if you guys don't include Timbaland & Missy on the project or got the approval from her family. I remember a tweet from her brother earlier this year saying there wasn't any new music being released or approved by them. Other than that if Drake & his team went through the proper procedures I'm all for it!

Why yall so hype about Drake making a song with Aaliyah? I think it was so cool I was expecting more but it was good for what it was. I miss Aaliyah, I wish I could have gotten to see her growth into womanhood but hey things happen.
The thing that made Aaliyah really special, I think, was that her music is timeless. You can listen to "Age Ain't Nothing but a Number" or "One in a Million" now--over a decade after they were released--and the music feels like it could've been made yesterday. It's timeless.
This, though good for the moment, isn't timeless. Not even close.

This song could've been done better.
The concept of talking about your issues as therapy is nice. As far as Drake's verse is concerned, however, he had much more to say personally on tracks such as "Successful" that made the listener feel empathetic towards his situations in life.
Had this instrumental gone to well known RnB crooner The Weeknd, I'm sure he would've been far more creative with it and his choice words as well. Just look at what he did with a small sample on "What you need".
For sure, Drake is capable of bringing out the depth of a sample. We can clearly see this on tracks like "Unforgettable", or the recent "Cameras / Good ones Go". But, with that being said, the depth of this sample has yet to be seen.

I have a number of thoughts..
This is a good single, not great however it is enjoyable. I think it shows that Drake and Noah are capable of producing a great album of Aaliyah's music.
Missy and Timbaland don't have to be a part of this project..no disrespect at all. Toward the end of her life, Aaliyah was taking more control of her music and was working with other producers. Her music belongs to the world, not her family..no disrespect at all. Listen to the background in her records, and listen to what 40 produces for Drake's background music. I think she would have liked working with these two because the three of them share, to a good degree, the same music sensibility.
These Canadian kids have a different swag about them however none of them seem to be disrespectful of the American artists...they celebrate them with that fresh style they're bringin'
With all of the success this fab four are having (Drake, 40, Oliver, Nikko), I hope that they stay the fab four, and don't let success, haters and/or interlopers
ruin their music making process and brotherhood.

Drake is a lyricist to the fullest. He loved Aaliyah and has prolly heard all of her unreleased music. He knows what she would like and would want to do with a record. Her cousin and uncle gave Drake the approval because they own the record label and her unreleaesed songs. (Of course they would how else who he get the music..) Her mom, dad and brother did not give him the approval. So when Drake says family I think you should really understand who he is talking about. I would not sepculate and assume family means mom, dad and brother, read a little more you would learn a couple of things.
