YOLO Love it!!! You should have named the song You Only Live Once instead of The Motto, but oh well... either way, it's the same song. That's Northern Cal. I'm from So Cal , San Diego born and raised. We speak Spanglish... 1/2 English, 1/2 Spanish. You need to mix some Spanish in that song and make it real. :)
This song, I like it, but I don't like it. What I don't like is Drake is talking wayy too fast. If I don't see the words, I don't really know what he's saying (should be the beat faster?/the words slower?). It's like speaking in tongues, not all of it makes sense (sorry, that's mean), but it is not a typical Drizzy song. It's not as meaningful, lyrical. It needs a definite theme. Sounds like you were high when you sung it?
What I like, the bass is awesome. Wayne is the bomb saying "Omg... look at her butt, Becky!!!" I started laughing. :) That part of the song was really funny. I think this song screams for a remix. You need a colab with Pitbull or Iglecias to put the "Spanish" Cali spin on it. :) The idea was right. It's already out, so you can't take it back. I would remix it. 3 1/2 stars per popcrush... no... I would at least shoot for 4, 4 1/2, 5 stars. The Bay area loves you. Come on!!!

When I went to school in San Diego, California, besides me and a Celina, a girl who was 1/2 white, 1/2 Hispanic, I was the only white girl in my whole grade. Most of the kids were border kids. All of my friends were bilingual or Spanish speaking. My best friend was a Mexican-American Rosa, and she only spoke Spanish. Before long I was speaking Spanglish. Every now and then I catch myself saying different combinations of words or listening and understanding conversations that English speaking persons typically would not understand.

Headlines while not anything too lyrical at least had substance. That's the only track Drake has released since his mixtapes that had any kind of substance IMO. The rest, especially his features consisted of subject matters that are typical of a mainstream rapper.

"The Motto" is 1/23 songs. Cut the guy a break. Imperfection is beauty. He's got more comments on the messed up songs than the hits. People are quick to find errors and slow to find the right in things. "The Motto" is not that bad of a song. It needs a remix and more time, but it has just as much hit potential as the other 22 songs. It's not even an actual song. It's a "bonus track".
