There's pros and cons to everything... The Chinese probably figure if dogs and cats can quadruple in population or more in one year, ecologically, it's not going to affect the population of cats and dogs if you use their fur because cats and dogs are already over populating the earth. The Chinese probably did their math and figured that fur from cats and dogs is not endangering them. It's population control.
Some leather jackets are made from leather of cowhides. Shoes, belts, and other leather items, that's been going on since the beginning of time. Again, the cow population is not suffering. People don't feel badly when they order a steak. Black Angus is bred for their meat as are some cattle for their ability to produce good quality apparel. So a pair of shoes, a leather jacket, who cares?
I mean, chinchilla can triple it's own population in one to two years. Rodents reproduction cycle can happen relatively quick. Chinchilla is a rodent, and it's used in laboratories. Though some breeds of chinchilla have become extinct, now typically if left to reproduce, chinchilla would over populate.
The furs I would complain about are the rare and endangered like seals, vicuna, spotted cats (Jaguar, Cheetah, Tigers) on the brink of extinction, not the domesticated cats and dogs that are thriving or the cows that will reproduce 15 times their number in a lifespan. The status quo, fur is already regulated, and a couple of logo OVO jackets is not damaging to the thriving cattle population.
Honestly, I would still buy a leather jacket. I don't think OVO has to resort to faux fur jackets to please animal welfare groups. It's not like the OVO jackets are made out of Jaguar...smh

I'm sorry but I agree with those complaining about the price. $500 is entirely too expense. The average person can't afford this and the average person is the demographic. You shouldn't price gouge fans. It's not right. How much did it cost (material/labor) to make those jackets? There is nothing wrong with making a profit but this is too much. You know why the Jessica Simpson collection has netted her so much money and Dereon not so much? Because Jessica Simpson's stuff is reasonably priced. She knows her demographic. She knows what they make and how much they have budgeted for a clothing allowance rather than how much they are willing to pay for clothing. There is a difference. I'm a new Drake fan (literally) so no I'm not hating. At all. I'm just saying.
