When Van Morrison's second solo album, Astral Weeks, hit shelves in 1968, it was a commercial failure (Not until 2001 did it achieve Gold status). But in the following decades, the mystical-themed album has become one of Morrison's most beloved, influencing everyone from Bruce Springsteen to U2. It ranks #19 on The Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list.

I think the ideas for 808's and Heartbreak are brilliant. I admire his commitment to this movement and it will be interesting to watch him follow through on the entire process.
