It’s a slow week for hip-hop on the Billboard Top 200 Chart.
Drake’s Take Care album drops four spots to No. 7 selling 73, 200 copies this week for a total of 967,600. The Roots’ Undun project debuts at No. 17 with 48,200 units moved.
T-Pain also enters the chart this week with Revolver, which sold 33,7000 copies its first week.
And rounding out the 200 is Lil Wayne, whose Tha Carter IV sits at No. 48 (descending one spot from last week) 15 weeks after entering the tally. The LP sold 22,000 copies this week, bringing Weezy’s total to 1.2 million copies sold to date. And dropping one spot to No. 52 this week is Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne set, which sold 20,000 copies on it’s 18th week on the chart for a grand total of 1.1 million.

Sales are lousy right now prob because Christmas is tight. Holiday music is what people are buying. Sales are still high with Take Care though. Lil Wayne higher numbers than JayZ. I always liked JayZ, but I think his new music, Wayne appeals to the white audience. I mean, really, how is a white person supposed to relate to "Niggas in Paris"? Then there is Lil Wayne on his skateboard rocking out. Seriously, Lil Wayne is mainstreaming it and a higher number of people relate to him. Of course Lil Wayne's sales are higher!!! :)

The best rapper alive does it again. Killing the billboard sharts and shutting down shows. It's no surprise that take care will go platinum very shortly if it hasn't already. It's an album like never before, the mood and feelings are set precisely to fit the appropriate atmosphere. Graham along with his team did in unbelievable incredible job putting together an album that has changed the sound of hip hop and r&b. One may argue that the man has changed the game since his first debut mixtape, but most won't show him any recognition till they hear Take Care. He's a real artist with real ambitions and goals. He's a genious and a great man and I'm honored to be in his presence.
