People often ask me the craziest part about becoming "famous" and I've never had an answer until yesterday.

"You'll spend half of your time defending yourself and the other half trying to stay sane resulting in you being forced to find time to be creative"

I often wonder in a time where new artists exist in a impersonal cyber world of instantaneous information, if we will ever have another rap legend that can manage to maintain the image that our idols had prior to this method of promotion. I am not suggesting that this person should be me, I am just urging a generation to understand that in order to have anyone of any significance in our lives that we can look up to there will be things that we must look past. There are people that buy sell and trade evil on a daily basis...when u believe in their brand is when they win.

"Even photoshop couldn't change me"
- Me

I also want people to know that I am only releasing this EP so that everyone involved in the project can hold a physical copy of the CD in their hands and see it in the store. And for anybody else who feels that So Far Gone marked a moment in time I just wanted to give you the option to have the disc. If you got it for free and want to keep it that way than by all means I urge you to. That was a gift from me to you...Thank Me Later.

Drake ,

You never fail to impress me , and remind me that you truly care and are loyal to your fans ... Your fame has come light a lightning strike ... every song I hear on the radio is either done by you or featuring you and I love every min of it !( not mention my Ipod is filled with your mixtapes) with every line you say you can hear the passion and dedication put into it . You shouldnt have to defend yourself because your music does all it by itself ..Stay loyal and humble as you have been ..

BTW , hope the leg is getting better , have a good & successful surgery !

Yes, but at the same time this age of instantaneous information is one of the reasons Why you are this successful. What is required from us is to be balanced with all these new tools at our disposal, the same way that balance is the key in every aspect of life. If you eat a large dinner, it would be healthy to take a jog afterwards. These idols of previous generations had thier own obstacles to overcome while they might have also benefited from the media vaccum sorounding them. It's like the time someone once said they would rather be a fictional character than a real person. Maybe that isn't as farfetched as it sounds. What is the difference after all? The media turns celebrities into larger than life personas (fictions), but at the end of the day all of us go to sleep as ordinary human beings. We have to accept that there is a fictional aspect of our lives, the greatest fictions are actually the ones we invent ourselves to continue living.

You are definitely wise beyond your 22 years. I am a new fan (2009) and I have never had an artist capture my attention the way that you have and I am a bit older than you. I will be purchasing So Far Gone because I wish to support you and of course because I want it and I can wait for Thank Me Later. Keep your head up Drizzy you have taken the game by storm and they are trying to catch up with you instead of the other way around. Blessed be your journey.

On a less serious note, I'm 31 and I guess can qualify as your Cougar.....Rarrrrrrrrr :)

My advice: Stop making yourself so accessible. I know that's how you got to where you are, and I personally have always loved that aspect of you and your music. But the same thing that made you can break you. Don't respond to everything these idiots throw at you because it just encourages them to keep going. Anyone that listens to your music knows the deal. For those that don't, fuck em.

Drake you is a real dude but you show all aspects of YOU. And you can relate to a lot of people through your music. I'm the same age as you even though your at a different level of "Success". But So Far Gone "The Calm" is definitely a track helped me through the winter and trying to stay grounded with all shit that was goin on wit me. And I can say that you gave me the reason to tell moms "Every Thing is Goin to Be Alright" You put Real shit that happens in your Life besides tellin stories and all other talents of music you do. I definitely feel that you created your own class....which reaches some people that it makes people expect a lot but Fuck That....Your Just doin You and Who ever don't like it...Fuck Em that means that was never really a fan in the first place....You don't have to prove nothin to nobody but yourself...Your fans is going to fans regardless because they feel like they know YOU on a personal level that other people and critics that just want to hear "Hot Music" can't understand...People Remember the music your doing because it coming from YOU that it thats all..Im riding wit ya..100 and 10....

Unfortunately in our culture we build with one hand and destroy with the other. The key is to continually strive to rise above the bullshit the gossip bloggers, media, haters...WHOMEVER...would throw in your path. You must be doing SOMETHING right if they're going at you so hard.

Stay focused (and stay off of that leg!)

In the era of watered down, overused, copycat etc. Hip hop I was happy to hear a dude that could make me say " damn I never heard that line before." I would compare that to the cake cause it was a new guy and not jay, weezy, yezzy, or jezzy LOL. While listening to one of your mixtapes I caught on to your blog as you were talking at the end of a song and thought I would check It out and I see this post. Just to kno that you have a purpose and you are not just another anchor to hip hop was the icing on the cake. I'm anticipating your album bro. Much respect and keep the timeless music coming. PEACE

a few minutes ago i listened to the jay-z/drake track of bp3. and i wonder how can there be any more rap legends if women are consistently h*s & b*****s in order to sell. funny the track speaks to being ahead of one's time in terms of material things but when it comes to attitude towards women it's the same kind of crackish backwards lyrics. if you tell you're woman you love her, we off that. hmm. i'm sure that was said to make the rapper and the rhyme hotter and pimp lovely and those views are but a characteristic of a rapper character. these young ones coming up though in the neighborhood with access to little examples of anything else that's cool and black believe this is the way one should live. and it makes it very hard to raise my son on music i loved growing up because i don't want him to think that in order to be creatively successful as a black man you must surround your music with these four pillars: h-word, b-word, n-word, pimp. the rappers sound good yet they go hard in exploiting and pimping the places they don't live or visit often, the hood.

To each is own, but the fans & numbers don't lie - we favor 'October's very own'. In todays society we can single handedly mold our legends in the making & just as easily sabatoge them..the problem with today is people prefer to invest time in another's personal life when their in the lime light rather than what they came here for, to entertain you - to touch you (hypothetically speaking) & to allow them to do what they love. We can rob ones dream with all the buffoonery that comes with it. Take it back to when you couldn't download a mixtape & had to hit your local cap city/barber or retailer to cop new music. The only outlet of gossip that was exposed was really radio airwaves & at that - it was battles. It wasn't petty photos, picked apart quotes, rumors & such. We lost sight in the beauty of MUSIC* but I feel you'll rise above any of this garbage Driz'..stay true to yourself & those you know are down for you, don't lose sight of YOUR passion & trust n believe you have a solid fanbase that doesn't endure such nonsense. Everything is under heavy scrutiny & taken out of context to the point that it can make a person want Out of the game. Don't bend. Don't fold. HipHop needs you xoxo

Keep your head to the sky and those haters will fall off. Your music has a message. That's what rap today is missing. You're not truly somebody special until you have haters. Remember this as well..........The media always builds you up to bring you down.
